All the rich flavors of classic bread pudding meet French toast in this easy French toast pecan toast.
Full of pralines and spices, there is enough sugar to make it pampering, without sending my whole family on a sugar crash in the middle of the morning.
My weakness for pralines returns to childhood and my annual visit to my grandparents’ house. My grandfather and I used to visit Baskin Robbins where his favorite ice cream was pralines and cream became my favorite ice cream.
Despite the fact that I tend to make my own ice cream these days, I still could not resist a ball of Baskin Robbins pralines and cream when given this option.
Praline French Toast
When I had an idea for this recipe, I knew he wanted it to be super easy and I wanted the praline flavor to be strong.
I am excited to tell you that this super easy recipe for Praline French Toast Pecan can be put together in less than 20 minutes and that includes the time required for slices of bread cubes.
Then simply put it in the oven until the brown sugar pecan coating caramelizes and every sweet and toasted buttery bite.
Side note: While we adore the raisins in this recipe, they are completely optional and can be dispensed with without any problems.

Praline French Toast Recipe
Kitchen Tip: I use it Baking dish Prepare this recipe. (I also like the lid for storing leftovers in the fridge!)
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Celsius. Grease a 9 × 13 baking pan and set aside. Use a sharp knife to slice the bread into 1-inch-thick pieces and then cut these pieces into 1-inch cubes. Place the bread in a large mixing bowl.
- In a small bowl, lightly beat the eggs and add the milk, cream, vanilla, sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Whisk to combine and pour the liquids over the bread cubes.
- Use a large spoon to mix gently and coat all the bread cubes. Add the raisins and mix once more to spread evenly. Transfer the bread mixture to the prepared baking pan.
- In a small glass bowl, melt the butter. Add the pecans and brown sugar and mix to combine. Drizzle the sugared pecan mixture evenly over the bread in the baking pan. Cover with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 20 minutes without covering. The bread should be golden brown toasted and the pecan coating should be caramelized at the end of baking.
- Remove from the oven and serve hot.
Speaking of a breakfast that consists of a freezer, I’m excited to tell you that this Praline French Toast freezes nicely. After it cools, I shove half of it In an airtight container Or a liter-sized ziplock.
After freezing, thaw it overnight in the refrigerator or reheat it in a frozen microwave. I usually serve a small portion of this French toast along with scrambled eggs or sausage to add protein.
