Crepex Snack Mix - The Southern Lady is cooking

Crepex snack mix is one of my favorite snacks to have on hand. My family loves these things and I can not invent them. They eat it as fast as I make it. This blend is so easy to make and is great to serve whenever you have a family and friends reunion for ball games, holidays or any event where you need a lot of something for a few people. I try to keep a Crispix snack mix on hand but it never lasts long in my house. This is a favorite family snack for watching TV at night and you just want something small to snack on. It is kept for weeks in an airtight container and the recipe can be doubled or crossed. You may want to check out our recipe for Seasoned oyster crackers.

Crispix snack mix simple ingredients.

Crepex breakfast cereal

Nuts (you can use peanuts, walnuts, pecans or any nuts you like)

Salt onion or powder

Garlic powder

lemon juice

Worcestershire sauce

As you can see in the image above, this is not Crispix. I wanted to update this recipe but unfortunately they did not have one during the holiday season. So I used corn chips and rice chips. It was just as good! This is a versatile recipe and can be played with the spices. This snack blend is also a wonderful gift during the holidays.

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt If I use onion salt, I do not put in regular salt either, but I usually use onion powder
  • Mix cereal, nuts and pretzel in a mixer bowl. Mix the rest of the ingredients and mix with the cereal mixture. Spread on a 9 by 13 size baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for an hour, stirring after 30 minutes. Makes 8 1/2 cups.

You can add other spices that you like or more / less of the spices on top until you get the taste you like. This is the way we like this snack mix.
I could not find crispy so I used 3.5 cups of corn chips corn and 3.5 cups of rice rice chips instead of the crispy.
