A virgin strawberry daiquiri is actually a dessert. It’s so good. Since it’s non-alcoholic, you can enjoy this delicious after-dinner cocktail without having to worry about any consequences. Of course, since this is a non-alcoholic drink, it’s easy to give it a frozen strawberry flavor instead.

What we want is something that tastes like strawberry daiquiri, without the alcohol. Fortunately, it’s a pretty simple recipe, and once you’ve downloaded it the first time, you’ll be ready to make as much as your heart desires.

How to make a virgin strawberry daiquiri without alcohol

The ingredients are the most important part of making strawberry daiquiri. Replace any of them and the whole factory is thrown away. The daiquiri recipe is over two hundred years old and adding fruit to the mix just brings a bold sweetness to the taste, which is exactly what we’re looking for.

  • Frozen strawberries (because it wouldn’t be a Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri without them)
  • Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • or tonic water or sprite (7up)
  • Simple syrup
  • ice

The frozen strawberries go without saying but when it comes to limes, you should only indulge in the freshest available and squeeze enough of the juice yourself. No lime of that plastic container, unless you’re really in a pinch.

Simple syrup is easy to make. All you have to do is throw some water and sugar (equal parts) in a pan and heat it on medium while whisking. Once the sugar has completely dissolved in the water, remove it from the heat and pour it into a container for storage.

The tonic or sprite is simply up to you in terms of your preferred taste. Sprite is much sweeter than tonic water so your choice will change the level of sweetness.

Regular ice cubes will also work. After all, you’re just going to purge it.

Tips and tricks

If you want a sweeter virgin strawberry daiquiri, you should consider using only lemon-lime soda, which is usually Sprite and 7up, although there are other variations out there. It’s much sweeter than tonic water, however, the calories and sugar count climb pretty quickly.

It’s also a good idea to puree in your blender, even if you have a really nice one. Always keep the lid on unless you want strawberries and ice on you and your kitchen.

Since you’re using ice, you don’t have to include frozen strawberries. You can also grab some fresh strawberries and keep them in the fridge until you’re ready to mix it all up.

The only difficult part of making a virgin strawberry daiquiri is making it too watery. Your goal is smooth, not watery. This means you want to lighten up on the amount of water, including the juice and any water you need to add to get your blender to blend everything.

Common questions

Can I have a Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri while pregnant?

In general, anything virgin is considered safe for pregnant women. However, you should always double check with your doctor first, just to be sure.

What is a good substitute for rum in strawberry daiquiri?

Simple syrup is usually a good, non-alcoholic substitute for the rum that usually goes into strawberry daiquiris. The best part is that it is really simple and easy to make without more sugar, water and heat.

Do strawberries keep their flavor when frozen?

Strawberries are pretty freezer friendly. They don’t lose any of their flavor just because they are frozen. Fresh strawberries are probably just a little better, however, and they tend to be a little easier on your blender.

How much sugar is in virgin daiquiri?

Depending on what you use as part of the ingredients in your Virgin Daiquiri, the sugar level is between 30g and 35g. It can be more or less, depending on how much simple syrup you use, the number of strawberries, and whether or not you use sprite or tonic water.
