Just to be up front this is not my award winning turkey chili recipe and I’m not sure what award it won but I made it last week, ok yes I changed it a bit but we all loved it. My son said it could use a little more salt but I actually made it for my mother-in-law and father-in-law who needs less sodium in his life, apparently we all can, with that being said, I loaded it up with other spices and no one else said anything else about it other than it was really good And they liked it very much. So that’s a win in my book.

I changed it up a bit, meaning when I use ground turkey I like to add the darker spices especially when I brown it. To me it makes all the difference in the world. It could be psychological or maybe some science, I’m not entirely sure but it’s starting to look like ground beef and even taste like it. I’m not going to fight it; I just embrace it and move on.

We’ve had some pretty crazy weather here, like 20 in the morning and close to 80 this past weekend. Not complaining just shaking my head. It looks like every day next week will look a little more like November than we’ve had. Now that I mention it listen; Expect it to snow soon…

Chili is one of the great things you can make on the stove or in your slow cooker. It makes a lot and it freezes great. So add something to your shopping list and have it ready for the week. We had it as is, and then my husband makes the best chili omelettes. They are insanely good!
