Can you improve the basic Tim Tam? It’s a controversial idea, but this 3-ingredient Tim Tam Balls recipe tries to do just that!

Tim Tam balls recipe

This recipe is adapted from the one on Arnott’s website.

I changed the coconut to 100s & 1000s or choclettes – to make them a little more fun and because my kids hate coconut.

Otherwise, it’s the same easy 3-ingredient recipe.

What are those 3 ingredients?

  • Tim Tams – one complete package
  • Condensed milk – half a can (make some meow with the rest, add to cereal or just spoon into your mouth when no one is looking)
  • 100s & 1000s or choclettes – you can always use desiccated coconut according to the original recipe, and I’ve also seen recipes that suggest rolling in milo or cocoa.

This recipe makes 18 balls, so if you’re cooking for a crowd, adjust the quantities accordingly.

How to make Tim Tam balls

It only takes 10 minutes of effort to make these sweet little snacks, but the mixture does require some time in the fridge.

So, here’s how to make Tim Tam balls without baking in 6 simple steps:

1. Process or process the Tim Tams until they are finely crushed.

2. Add condensed milk and mix to combine.

3. Put the mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour, so that the mixture is stable enough to roll into balls.

4. Remove the mixture from the refrigerator and use your hands to roll spoonfuls of the mixture into smooth, round balls.

5. Roll balls in 100s & 1000s or choclettes and place on a tray lined with baking paper.
