My grandmother lived a long life, and as such, she decided to retire from the kitchen. However, she is still a gracious host, and every time I visit she will ask if I want something to eat. Although she will also add, “Remember I don’t cook anymore, so someone else will have to make it.” I will laugh and assure her it will be fine.

Indeed, I come from a large family of passionate cooks, and there is never a shortage of helping hands in the kitchen. One of those cooks is my uncle. . .
