Yes, I use frozen hash browns for my potatoes because they are already cooked and just need to be reheated. Huge time savings! If you want your soup to be smoother at the end, give it a few pulses with a tahini blender.

Here are some tips and tricks for making perfect potato soup:

  • Boil warning: Do not boil the soup after adding the milk. Just kick it back to low and let it do its thing.
  • milk: For the creamiest soup, use whole milk. You can use lower fat milk, like 2% or 1% milk as well.
  • Variations: You are welcome to add more vegetables (carrots, broccoli or cauliflower are great) or change the seasoning to your taste.

In a large pot melt butter. fry onion and carrot until they start to get soft. Curt flour On top of the vegetables and mix to create a paste.

Add chicken stock, hash browns + spices

whisk in Chicken stock and bring to a boil. Soup will thicken quite a bit. Add Frozen hashish and spices.

Cook covered over medium-low heat until the carrot is completely soft and the potatoes have thawed and be softAbout 10 minutes.

Mix milk, sour cream + chives

mix in Milk, sour cream and dried chives and reduce the heat. Cook until the soup is hot, but not boiling. Ladle for bowls and above Cheese, bacon and chives. Serve hot!

What to serve with potato soup

Loaded potato soup is very tasty, especially with whole wheat dinner rolls, my mom’s potato rolls, or these angel cookies. Really, every carb is fresh. Add some freshness by serving alongside a green salad.

Soup is one of those meals that should be prepared in advance and reheated when ready to eat! To store in the refrigerator, let the soup cool to room temperature, then transfer it to an airtight container. You can use a plastic or glass container, or even a plastic ziplock bag. Potato soup should be good for 3-4 days in the fridge.
