Can we all agree that a plate of random veggies and a big bowl of ranch as an appetizer could use an update? Okay thank you. I’ll handle it from here. Say hello to Ranch Veggie Dip with Rainbow Veggie Toppings!

This ranch dip is so many wonderful things in one. First, it’s easy to make. Mix a few basics and then layer on some ground vegetables and you’re set. It’s not much harder than mixing together a hidden valley farm pack, but it’s a bit more substantial and has more immersion potential.

The ranch dip would make a great appetizer for a game day celebration or you can make it ahead and share it for quick after school snacks!

The colors are bright, it’s relatively healthy, and that’s it Beautiful Delicious. Serve it with any kind of favorite chips!

Once the dip is made, it will keep great in the fridge for a few days so feel free to make it in advance! Say goodbye to the stale vegetable platter this year and make this fun dip!

Ranch Dip Base Ingredients

I thought about using a packaged ranch mix for this dip, but I liked the flavors better by just mixing in some simple spices and herbs myself.

The base for this dip is a cream cheese base with some mayo mixed in to loosen it up a bit. Fresh lemon juice also helps clarify the flavors and loosen the dip. You can substitute sour cream or Greek yogurt for the mayonnaise if you like.

Then add all the flavors and spices! I like to use fresh parsley and chives along with garlic powder and onion powder. You can multiply heavily on the spices. I would start with a teaspoon of garlic powder and onion powder. It gets you really close to the taste of homemade ranch dip.

While I don’t like fresh dill in mine, it’s a common ingredient and you can add it if you want.

Mash all the ingredients of the farm’s vegetable dip well. It helps if your cream cheese is at room temperature.

Then spread it in a large 9×13 dish. Honestly, if you want you can skip the veggie topping and it’s a really good dip for chips on its own! I know because I “tested” a fair amount of it before making the vegetable layer.

Pretty good already!

Adding the vegetable toppings

Now let’s talk rainbows! Now any true rainbow lover will know that I lack color, but there are no natural blue vegetables so I just left it. not a big problem. These work for the rest of the rainbow though! I used a mixture of tomatoes, carrots, yellow peppers, broccoli florets and purple cabbage.

The only real trick to this dip and why the prep time is 15-20 minutes is that you want to make sure you slice the veggies evenly and thinly. No big chunks!

start working!

Layer these veggies in your dish on top of the ranch cream cheese layer and you’re in business!

Remember, ROY G. BIV or I guess ROY G. IV in this case!

If I’m choosing a favorite color, I’ll probably vote for green or yellow. I loved the broccoli/farm combo and the pop from the peppers.

This Rainbow Veggie Ranch Dip is a crowd pleaser, super colorful, and pretty easy to make. What more could you want in baptism?!

What to serve with this farm vegetable dip

I usually like veggies in my ranch dip but this dip is already loaded with veggies so it’s best served with some chips. Tortilla chips or potato chips go well or any light and crunchy chips work great! Remember, you can always make your own tortilla chips!
