Component
Raw ginger root | 40 grams |
Raw turmeric root | 80 grams |
lemon | 1 |
Oranges | 2 |
filtered water | 200 ml |
Ground black pepper | 6 pinch |
Level 1
Wash the ginger and turmeric roots, peel them and roughly chop them.
Peel and slice the lemon and orange, remove the bitter white rind and any seeds.
level2
Transfer the ingredients to a powerful blender or food processor, pour in the water and transfer everything to a cloudy, deep yellow juice.
Since you are not using a juicer, the turmeric juice will still have some chunks at this point.
Do not keep mixing the ingredients for a long time in an attempt to achieve a smoother result: this action may heat the juice and damage some of the precious heat-sensitive antioxidants.

Sweetener options
If you find the turmeric balls too bitter and spicy, you can add a little maple syrup or honey – but try to keep the added sugars to a minimum.
Alternatively, use a sugar-free sweetener such as erythritol, monk fruit or stevia; You can also dilute the shots with a splash of water or coconut water.
Serving tip
After drinking a shot of this lemon turmeric juice, snack on some nuts: they contain healthy fats, which help increase the absorption of turmeric.
You can eat a small handful of raw or roasted nuts or even eat a healthy nut and fruit bar.
freezing
Want to make a bigger batch? Increase the quantities, divide the turmeric root juice between ice cube trays and put in the freezer.
Each ice cube is equal to about 30 ml (1 fl oz) of juice, so remove two cubes from the tray to get a serving.
You can add them to a glass of water or pop them straight into a smoothie, like this Yellow Mango Oatmeal Smoothie.
